Trevor and I spent 5 days in the Colorado high country and then 2 days in the Moab, Utah area in search of geological phenomena and some sick mountain biking.

Friday, September 1, 2006 - Day 0

That's roughly 40,000 calories of food. Mmmmm. 40,000 calories. Notice the Mountain House. Polynesian Chicken with Rice, anyone? How about some Teriyaki Beef? Mmmm. Mountain House.

Saturday, September 2, 2006 - Day 1

Navigating our way off of Vail Pass, easily the hardest part of the trip from a navigation standpoint. Don't ask.

Trevor is tall and can see long distances. Here he spots the Fowler-Hilliard hut for the first time.

This was our first view of the Fowler-Hilliard hut. If it wasn't for the smoke from the fire we may have missed it. Thanks family from Chicago!

These are the sleeping quarters of a typical hut. Comes with pillow and case, sleeping pad, and a little shelf for your headlamp and journal. Very nice. Not so rough at all.

Sunday, September 3, 2006 - Day 2

Said family from Chi-town. The kids were 4, 7 and 10 and they hiked ~5 miles in. Very impressive!

In the morning we hiked up Resolution Mountain to the west of the hut. This was our view of the hut from along the side of the mountain.
